(School-based)
Inaabam Lawrence, MSW, is an enrolled member of the White Earth Band of Ojibwe in Minnesota, and a descendent from Torreon, Mexico. Born and raised in the urban area of Minneapolis, she has spent a majority of her schooling in magnet programs for Native American students. Holding a Bachelors in Psychology, and certification in Perinatal Education, Inaabam focuses on promoting and supporting healthy cognitive development for pediatric aged clients (0-21). Most recently, Inaabam has completed her Masters in Social Work from the University of Southern California, with a focus on children, youth, and families.
In her beginning years of social services, Inaabam found a passion in working with youth, especially those who identified as Native American or Indigenous. Her journey has allowed her to work with children, youth, and families providing harm-reduction, supportive, wrap-around services to Indigenous youth in Minneapolis that had experienced human trafficking and/or sexual exploitation, inadequate housing, and family crisis support. Inaabam is intentional about being an advocate in her community for groups including MMIWR, and has begun exploring other community spaces such as ceremonies, where she is continuing her learning through a traditional lens.
